"Forager" ranks as one of the most popular bywords of today, signaling that somebody went to a lot of trouble to bring you the best. That holds true at Foragers City Grocer and its restaurant adjacent to the market, Foragers City Table. The owners have their own farm in upstate New York, supplying much of the produce. Bakery goods come from Balthazar, sweets from Doughnut Plant and coffee from Brooklyn Roasting Company, fitting since this independently owned grocer was founded in DUMBO. The menu changes frequently, but here's an idea of what you'll find among the offerings sailing from the open kitchen: organic baked eggs with house-smoked pepper bacon, house-made quinoa granola with seasonal fruit, lettuce-herb noodles with local oysters and coconut sauce, and a heritage-pork porterhouse with verbena caramel and pickled ramps.
