This French footwear designer has been a celebrity favorite (boldfaced names like Sarah Jessica Parker, Oprah Winfrey and Lenny Kravitz have worn his kicks) since he launched his namesake shoe line in 1999, and you could previously find his edgy men’s and women’s styles only in high-end department stores like Barneys and Neiman Marcus. Now that the brand has its first stateside store, it’s easier than ever to slip your tootsies into Cazabat’s suede platform loafers ($295), collared stilettos ($295) and metallic tweed booties ($330). Cazabat derives inspiration from nightlife, rock & roll and femininity, which is evident in the collection’s two-tone leather straps and studded details. That same edgy aesthetic carries over to the store’s decor, which is meant to emulate Cazabat’s Soho loft with neon-yellow signage and fiery-red velvet sofas. Even if you can’t swallow the hefty price tags on men’s and women’s shoes ($245–$750) and handbags ($1,200–$1,500), it’s still fun to browse the eye-popping items like fuchsia pumps ($295) displayed on gold-leaf-dusted shelves.
