Obtained by the La MaMa folks in the '70s, this gigantic wooden space--redolent of forty years of joss sticks--has long been one of the best places to see a certain type of puppetcentric, multicultural, experimental work. Touring groups from Poland and the Baltic States are frequent visitors, but the welcoming MaManians also recently presented the hip local company Theater of a Two Headed Calf in its triumphant production of Major Barbara.
