If all you want from a pre- or posttheater meal is food on a plate and an easy reservation, then this generic bistro will fit the bill. The food fails to rise above mediocre catering fare. Escalopes de poulet arrive as three sad rolls of chicken stuffed with mozzarella and prosciutto, with a couple of lonely roasted potatoes alongside. The steak tartare was so overwhelmed with chopped pickles, we could barely taste the meat. Only a comforting onion soup veiled in Gruyère was worth the trip through Times Square--and not nearly enough of a meal to make it through two acts of The Lion King.
