Prospect Park is a beautiful area, what with its flora, fauna and myriad outdoor activities. But many of the buildings throughout the park are historically fascinating and well worth exploring, too. The Lefferts Historic House is an 18th-century farmhouse on the eastern edges of the park (near the Children's Corner), and regularly schedules educational programs for kids and special seasonal festivals. The grand home and museum is available to rent for events—kids' birthday parties are especially popular.
