An icon of historic Harlem, Lenox Lounge has been serving up swinging jazz and soul-food classics for almost 70 years. All the greats played here—Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, John Coltrane—and the entertainment in the jungle-fabulous Zebra Room is still spot on, as is the mac and cheese. An art deco vibe permeates the place (and the street front, too—the facade alone is worth the trip uptown).
