Located just 14 miles outside of Manhattan, this New Jersey airport opened in 1928 (the dedication ceremony featured an appearance by Amelia Earhart). With 24,000 employees, 27 gates and a 425-acre central terminal, the airport served more than 33 million people in 2008.
