"This place is kosher?" will be your first question walking into Noi Due. There"s nothing frum{/I}-looking about this intimate café, a terrific date spot for anyone--observant or otherwise. Start with antipasti (we liked the pastry cigars filled with ricotta and spinach), but save room for the pizza. Cooked in a brick oven, the pies are topped with palpably fresh ingredients, on a crunchy yet chewy crust. Try the tangy white Formaggi (mozzarella, ricotta, basil and Parmigiano) or the robust Selvatica (with ricotta, sun-dried tomatoes, marinara sauce, mushroom, onion and Parmigiano), and pair each with one of 23 kosher wines. Religious Jews need more casual restaurants like this, but so does the entire Upper West Side.
