New York City is made up of five boroughs: the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. Each one has enough attractions—and enough personality—to be a city all its own. Learn more about them with this guide.
Perilla opened in 2007 and quickly became a neighborhood standby. Executive chef and owner Harold Dieterle was the winner of Top Chef season one, but he has grown beyond that title and proven to be an exciting young chef. The new American menu offers up such dishes as pan-roasted wreck fish, tea-smoked duck breast, young egg yolk ravioli and a $70 per-person tasting menu that includes six courses. The Perilla team matches him with warm, friendly and knowledgeable service. The wine list is concise and well priced, pairing well with the menu.
