Perilla opened in 2007 and has quickly become a neighborhood standby. Executive chef and owner Harold Dieterle is the winner of Top Chef season one, but he has grown beyond that title and proven to be an exciting young chef. The new American menu offers up such dishes as pan-roasted wreck fish, tea-smoked duck breast, young egg yolk ravioli and a $70 per-person tasting menu that includes six courses. The Perilla team matches him with warm, friendly and knowledgeable service. The wine list is concise and well priced, pairing well with the menu.
