New York City is made up of five boroughs: the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. Each one has enough attractions—and enough personality—to be a city all its own. Learn more about them with this guide.
Pure Thai Shophouse has an innovative menu executed by the sweet-faced and behatted Vanida Bank, who greets customers as she stirs and pivots behind a noodle bar. She and her husband, David, co-own this cozy, contemporary luncheonette and are also behind the Thai restaurants Land and Recipe. Specials are displayed on a blackboard and the permanent menu includes crispy sesame crepes with shrimp mousse and Kaffir lime curd; ginger curry with calamari and bok choy; and handmade egg noodles with roasted pork and lump crabmeat.
