Quesadillas, calamari, chicken with fries--let"s just say you"d eat here all the time if you were a Columbia student. The space features the same vintage Bakelite radios as the downtown branch, and draws professors, students and locals for inexpensive comfort food. The menu is eclectic--empanadas, pastas, burgers and the heralded (but bland) herb-roasted chicken. Heaping desserts, like strawberries with chocolate-rum whipped cream and chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, are simple pleasures. Many of the menu"s cocktail variations (mango Cosmos?) sound like dessert, too.
