When the attraction known as “Shoot the Freak” closed in 2010, many feared that a piece of Coney Island history was permanently lost. Fans can now take solace in the attraction’s latest incarnation—Shoot the Clown, located in Coney’s Bowery area. Operating out of the old Derby Racer space, players can grab a paintball gun and take aim at a fully mobile human target, who runs through the game area in a mask and body armor.
