If you want to open a rock & roll bar, it helps to be a rock star--or be partners with one. The owners of Chelsea's Vela lounge have teamed with Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots, Velvet Revolver), Duff McKagan (Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver) and Brett Scallions (Fuel) to open Snitch. They've lined the bathrooms with old rock magazine covers and dressed the staff in vintage rock T-shirts. Even the menu has attitude: "shut up" banana splits and "beer balls" (shareable kegs) mingle with mac and cheese and fried chicken. In rock-star fashion, Snitch is open 24 hours on weekends.
