The Famous Pink Tea Cup

88 Seventh Ave South between Bleecker and Grove Sts
Manhattan, NY 10014

description/

NYCGO Logo The original Pink Tea Cup on Grove Street opened in the 1950s. The protests that erupted when it closed in 2010 led Lawrence Page to buy the name, duplicate and update the soul-food menu and hire some of the old staff when he opened the new Famous Pink Tea Cup nearby. Before, it was more of a little pink coffee shop, but now it's bigger, darker and clubbier. On the menu is smothered meatloaf, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, and Southern sides like black-eyed peas and collard greens.
