"The Lambs," the country’s first theatrical club, boasted members such as Charlie Chaplin and two generations of the Barrymore clan, and was housed in a building designed by architect Stanford White. The swanky new restaurant and bar located in the space—what is now a National Historic Landmark—has a pedigree in more ways than that. In addition to the restaurant, Food Network chef Geoffrey Zakarian—along with partners David Rabin, Will Regan, Jeffrey Jah and Margaret Zakarian—oversee the mezzanine bar, the in-room dining and the special event and meeting spaces. The Art Deco dining room off the lobby of the posh Chatwal hotel has a massive fireplace and walls lined with black-and-white photos of Broadway greats. Zakarian's menu is Modern American at its best, and the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and pre-/post-theater cuisine. The upstairs lounge welcomes guests with free WiFi, afternoon tea, light fare and cocktails late into the night. Every Wednesday night, live jazz begins at 7:30pm. The club is a historic gem in the heart of Times Square.
