The Maritime Hotel

363 W 16th St at Ninth Ave
Manhattan, NY

This stylish hotel opened in summer 2003 and features not only round, porthole-esque windows but also teak furniture and a mostly blue, stately atmosphere. If you feel like you're boarding a ship, that's because it was once the National Maritime Union headquarters. Even if you don't spend the night in one of the hip rooms, you can dine at Matsuri, the underground sushi restaurant, or sit outside at La Bottega, which has 6,000 feet of patio space. There are two clubs, as well: Hiro, the dancehall down below, and Cabanas, the rooftop party space/lido deck that will make you feel like you're sipping cocktails on the Love Boat.
