Beth Blake, a fashion stylist in New York, was desperately looking for a bridesmaid dress for her sister's wedding. Never having had a fashion dilemma she couldn't solve, she set out shopping to find the perfect dress--and for the first time found herself empty-handed. So she teamed up with Sophie Simmons, a downtown designer, to make sure that other stylish bridesmaids-to-be never find themselves in the same predicament. And so, Thread was born. They create trendy and modern gowns that are perfect for weddings but chic enough to wear on more than one occasion.
