Manhattan, NY 10036

The newly renovated Times Square Museum & Visitor Center includes free exhibitions that tell the story of Times Square, featuring the New Year’s Eve Centennial Ball and confetti Wishing Wall, Broadway theater memorabilia and peep show booths with videos on the history of the sex trade in the area. Housed in the landmarked Embassy Theater, which was the world’s first newsreel theater, the nearly 6,000 square-foot Museum and Visitor Center is a one-stop shop for tourists and New Yorkers to buy tickets to Broadway shows, book Gray Line/Circle Line bus or boat sightseeing tours, and pick up free brochures on City attractions. New features include: the New Year’s Eve Centennial Ball that simulates the New Year’s Eve countdown every 20 minutes; the New Year’s Eve Wishing Wall where visitors can write wishes on confetti to be added to the two tons of confetti that fall on Times Square at midnight on New Year’s Eve; video highlights of Times Square’s past and present; a Broadway exhibition with memorabilia from iconic Broadway shows; a Fantasy and Desire exhibition featuring a restored “Peep-O-Rama” sign from 42nd Street’s last peep show; and the Official Times Square Gift Shop, where visitors and New Yorkers can shop for books, posters, clothing, souvenirs and other exclusive Times Square gifts.
