In keeping with the evolution of Murray Hill, the owners of this subterranean bar have decided to create a multipurpose space for all types. A third of the sprawling venue feels like a neighborhood pub (lined with exposed brick), another section is a swank, libraryesque lounge dotted with leather couches and low wooden tables, and the backyard functions as a sports bar. Underground doesn't serve food, but it does offer classic cocktails like Campari and soda, and a daily happy hour ($1 domestic drafts and $3 well drinks) from 4 to 8pm.
