Named after an ancient, famously beautiful neighborhood in Istanbul, this narrow, no-frills restaurant may not live up to its namesake in the looks department, but you won't be disappointed by the food. The cold cucumber-yogurt soup with a touch of garlic is wonderfully soothing, while classic standbys such as hummus and spinach pie definitely satisfy. The chef's mixed grill is a must for meat lovers: a mountain of tender chicken cubes, juicy lamb shanks, spiced minced lamb...and even more lamb. The service is a bit slow, but in a friendly mom-and-pop kind of way.
