New York City is made up of five boroughs: the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. Each one has enough attractions—and enough personality—to be a city all its own. Learn more about them with this guide.
Sandwiches with a Southern bent, shelves with lots of whiskey and a sound track of country music characterize this down-home spot. While there's nothing extremely fancy in the decor (tin ceilings, black-and-white snapshots, exposed piping), sandwiches are carefully constructed, not slapped together. Buttermilk fried chicken is the hottest ticket, but the shop also does a fine fish sandwich and another featuring pulled pork. Additional Southern specialties include Brunswick stew, macaroni and cheese, and crunchy hush puppies.
