New York City is made up of five boroughs: the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. Each one has enough attractions—and enough personality—to be a city all its own. Learn more about them with this guide.
Danielle Levitt, Christina Chin and Caroleyn Ng are best friends and fashionable insiders in New York's creative world. They also have an inclination for socializing, so it's only natural they'd want to have their own place to host their friends and whatever other interesting types walk through the door. Wise Men is named for the Western-style steak house Chin's parents ran in Chinatown in the '70s; a blown-up photo of her mother, Betty, surrounded by a bevy of women is plastered across the front of the restaurant. Inside are subtle steak house references, such as lacy-looking red wallpaper that's actually photos of Kobe beef and a bavette steak on the menu. Mostly, it's a fun, dark place to have drinks into the wee hours and feed on gossip and crab toast, fried clam strips and a thoughtful number of vegetarian dishes.
