Etsy's website is a place to buy and sell homemade afghans and crocheted scarves, among other things, but its DUMBO headquarters is far hipper than what you'd find at Granny's knitting club. Every Monday, Etsy opens its fifth-floor workshop to the public for Craft Night (4 to 8pm), when visitors learn to refurbish old T-shirts, etch glass, create felt photo pockets and construct origami in the brightly lit and well-appointed lab. On December 7, stop by for the weekly Craft Night, held from 4 to 8pm, where you can craft along with others or work on your own project. If you can't attend in the flesh, free live demos are broadcast online at 5pm in the "virtual labs." And Etsy's new e-zine, The Storque, offers info on wardrobe improvement, home decor and environmentalism. "It's a great place to learn something fun and new while getting inspiration from your crafty neighbors," says Etsy's Adam Brown. —Ben Detrick
