"Good things come in small packages" is a holiday adage applicable to this condensed version of Brooklyn Flea, the hugely popular outdoor market held on Sundays during the warmer months. The weekly Winter Pop-Up kicks off its second-annual stint on December 5 by stuffing a vacant storefront with familiar Flea favorites like A.S.I.S.'s hand-knit wool baby booties, vintage maps, Brooklyn-manufactured antique clocks and briny McClure pickles. "There's never any rain or wind, which allows vendors to pull out the real razzle-dazzle," says Flea co-founder Eric Demby. "Grab a cup of hot cider and start hunting for treasures." Local chocolatier Fine & Raw offers a selection of its Brooklyn-made, eco-friendly treats as well as fresh-made hot chocolate. The best times to haggle for better prices? Early in the morning, right before close and whenever nasty weather hampers attendance.
