Midtown's approach to the holidays isn't exactly subtle, and the seasonal window displays are one of the neighborhood's great joys. Barneys' display is particularly intriguing this year. The department store's past themes have featured hippie and eco-friendly designs, and this season's sounds just as inspiring: Saturday Night Live, in honor of the show's 35th anniversary. Expect tableaux dedicated to the Coneheads, John Belushi's "Killer Bee," Tina Fey's Emmy-winning Sarah Palin and even sad-sack Debbie Downer. Amused? Thank Simon Doonan, the department store's creative director, who always orchestrates the flagship's windows with wit and élan. (Hey, you don't get a TV show made about your life for nothing.)
