Knitty City, Pearl Chin’s yarn store on the Upper West Side, has evolved into the local hangout for knitters of all stripes. “Some people come here almost every day—the ones who live close to here just to drop by to say hello, check things out, to see if somebody comes in with a new project,” she says. Chin speaks of the close-knit community on the Upper West Side, Knitty City's recent appearance in an issue of Vogue Knitting magazine and the store's upcoming four-year anniversary.
