Open Swim: 5 Hotel Pools

Erin O’Hara

As snow and ice pile up on New York City streets, it's little wonder that we're all pining for H2O in its liquid form. Luckily for those of you eager to show off your body, swim some laps or enjoy the fruits of a pool bar, you can dip your toes in some warm water before the City's public beaches and outdoor pools open later this year. Even if you're not an overnight guest, there are quite a few hotels that let you dive right in. Pool fees and hours vary, but all will help you beat the sleet.

Room Mate Grace
After 5pm, head over to swanky boutique hotel Room Mate Grace for a grown-up swim for only $10. The pool is open to the public after hours and comes complete with a swim-up bar and bottle service.

New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge
If you're in the mood to swim a few 75-foot laps, for $25 you can do as many as you want at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. And for $7, kids can go for a dip during children's sessions.

Millennium UN Plaza Hotel
The Millennium UN Plaza Hotel offers day passes to its pool for $40, or you can pick up a monthly membership for $150 (plus an initiation fee). If you're not feeling amphibious, soak up some rays instead—the lounge chairs and floor-to-ceiling windows are ideal for winter sunbathing.

Sheraton Manhattan at Times Square
The Sheraton Manhattan, just a few blocks from Times Square, also charges $40 for a daylong dip, with monthly membership at $99. Palm fronds and ocean decor add to the relaxing ambience—which might help you lose track of your countdown to spring.

The Parker New York
You'll definitely get your money's worth at luxury hotel Parker New York, where non-guests can swim for $75 a day. It's a bit pricier than other daily fees, but the saltwater pool and soothing sundeck with views of Central Park will make you feel like you've indulged in an expensive spa treatment.
