Welcome Back, Couture

Harrison Peck

After filming its sixth season in Los Angeles, Project Runway is bidding auf Wiedersehen to the West Coast and returning to New York City. And why not? As home to some of the world's most innovative designers and trends, New York is indeed the fashion capital of the world—not to mention the city that birthed the seminal design competition five years ago. Project Runway's seventh season premieres on January 14 at 10pm on Lifetime Television, and NYC is planning memorable opportunities for fans to welcome Heidi, Tim, Nina, Michael and an all-new cast of aspiring fashionistas back home.

Starting January 9, experience NYC through the discerning eyes of the Project Runway designers on a complimentary two-hour bus tour. Your CitySights NY guide will take you by iconic Runway locations, including Bryant Park, Mood Designer Fabrics, Michael Kors' SoHo boutique and more. The tour will also give fans the chance to see various spots around town that inspired some of the contestants' challenges, such as Hershey's Times Square, where the designers snatched up candy and pillows for use in their creations, and Columbus Circle, which served as the stimulus for pieces based on New York City nightlife. The bus, which will be decked out from headlight to taillight in Project Runway imagery, will depart at 2pm from the Westin New York at Times Square (270 W. 43rd St.) on January 9, 10 and 16. A limited number of passes are available, and they will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
