Annual NYC Film Festivals

New York City is known for its cinema culture, bolstered by a yearly lineup of film festivals. The City’s longest-running annual film event—fall’s New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center—has been highlighting new American and international films since 1963. Another big showcase, April’s Tribeca Film Festival, attracts around 500,000 attendees and is NYC’s largest celebration of movies.

Besides those two tentpoles, a host of other festivals take place throughout the year: they feature films from around the world (New York International Children’s Film Festival) or around the block (Brooklyn Film Festival); movies that shock (New York Horror Film Festival) and satisfy (Food Film Festival).
