Dia: Chelsea

Dia’s first space in Chelsea opened in 1987 and played an integral part in the development of the Chelsea arts scene, providing early gallery shows for artists like Jenny Holzer and Robert Irwin. The Chelsea space closed for repairs in 2004 and will reopen permanently in 2016; until then, Dia’s temporary space hosts regular poetry and art history reading events.
