The Met Museum presents the first-ever comprehensive retrospective in North America of the works of 19th-century French painter Eugene Delacroix—the artist who set the path for almost all other French painters who followed. The exhibition, in collaboration with the Musée du Louvre, showcases more than 150 paintings, drawings, prints and manuscripts from the artist, some of which have never been seen in the US before. Delacroix’s works are arranged chronologically over the more than four decades of his creativity.
