Dorothea Lange believed that all photos could be strengthened and enhanced by words that helped tell the subject's story. Lange's landmark publication, An American Exodus, which highlighted the Dust Bowl and its impact through photos, quotes, lyrics and news, forms the core of this exhibit, the first major MoMA exhibit of her work in 50 years.
