Governors Island’s daily hours will be extended for one day only this summer for a rare opportunity to see the sunrise and sunset along the harbor with the Brooklyn and Manhattan skylines and the Statue of Liberty as backdrops—all from the vantage point of the Hills, its newly opened park. From 5am to 9pm, visitors can take advantage of activities like biking or viewing some of the current art and history exhibitions being offered. Ferry rides to and from Manhattan are free all day.
