The New York Botanical Garden gets into the Halloween spirit with six weeks of creepy, family-friendly fun. The celebration begins with Pumpkins: Playful & Plentiful, for which unusual pumpkins and gourds are scattered around the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden among 30 friendly scarecrows. Other activities include a fall puppet show, a spooky tea party and explorations of the seasonal flowers and fruits on display in the garden. Additional events include Creepy Creatures of Halloween, taking place each October weekend; a scarecrow-making weekend (October 8–10); and Giant Pumpkin Weekend (October 22–23), which features some of the world’s largest and most amazing examples.
