The afternoon's programming includes the black baptist preaching tradition known as homiletics, gospel music and the black gospel horn, introduced by a short film clip on the history of Harlem and a soul food sampler. Featured participants include Gregory Charles Royal, a longtime soloist with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, and Ken "Skillet" Crutchfield, a member of the original Broadway company of Ain't Misbehavin'. The program begins at 1:30 and lasts approximately two hours. For more information, visit americanyouthsymphony.org.
