Monsters have fascinated humans throughout history. This exhibit, drawn from the illuminated manuscripts in the Morgan's collections, looks at the role of monsters in the Middle Ages through three lenses. Terrors encompasses the powerful ones: rulers, knights and saints; Aliens showcases the fear of marginalized groups: Jews, Muslims, women, the poor and disabled; and Wonders explores strange and frightful beauties.
