The New York Philharmonic’s annual weeklong tour of the City’s parks brings free classical music concerts to all five boroughs, including Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx (June 11), the Great Lawn in Central Park (June 12), Cunningham Park in Queens (June 13) and Prospect Park in Brooklyn (June 14). The celebration culminates on June 16 with an indoor concert at Staten Island’s St. George Theatre. Performances feature Rossini’s La gazza ladra overture, Aaron Copland’s “Hoe-Down” from Rodeo and Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2. Each outdoor show begins at 8pm and is followed by a fireworks display; the Staten Island performance starts at 4pm.
