Jon Verney is a photographer best known for his work manipulating found imagery that draws on the Dadaist practice of exploring objects' metamorphoses prior to his working with them. The artist uses Polaroids that he finds at flea markets or online as source materials, and subsequently enlarges them. This exhibit is comprised of large scale photographs made specifically for SACI New York's space that explore the theme of schism. Verney will give a talk on April 18 at 6:00 PM.
