Two iconic female statues from different parts of the world—Florence’s Liberty of Poetry, created as a monument to Italian poet and patriot Giovanni Battista Niccolini, and NYC’s own Lady Liberty—serve as subjects for this exhibition that explores their symbolic and cultural similarities. The likeness between the two is stunning; this exhibition, which includes a video, a series of panels and a reproduction of the Florentine sculpture, shows visitors that the connection between them extends far beyond what we can see.
