Der Ring des Nibelungen, best known as Wagner's Ring Cycle, made its debut in Bayreuth in 1876 and its US premier at the Met in 1889. This exhibit, which explores the making & presentation of this epic drama, includes documents and memorabilia from private collections, the Morgan's archives and those of the Met Opera alongside never before seen sketch leaves from the Richard Wagner Museum in Bayreuth.
