Groundbreaking American designer Willi Smith, one of the most successful African-American designers in history, is being honored by the Cooper Hewitt with a first-ever museum exhibition dedicated to his work. More than 200 items are on display showcasing how the streetwear icon and founder of Williwear broke down social, cultural and economic barriers, paving the way for other people of color to do the same.
