The Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre—an actual Scandinavian antique reminiscent of a fairy-tale dwelling—was brought to its bucolic setting in Central Park by none other than Frederick Law Olmstead, the Park’s illustrious landscape architect. For more than 40 years, a theatre troupe has called the cottage its home, and has performed thousands of marionette shows to the delight of adult and child alike. Its current production features two girls and a yeti who forge an unlikely friendship.
