Pioneer Works

Pioneer Works transformed a 25,000-square-foot manufacturing warehouse into a multidisciplinary, artist-run cultural center. The 19th-century building was originally home to Pioneer Iron Works—makers of railroad tracks and other large-scale machinery. Since 2012 it has been home to science studios, a VR and AR production lab, a recording studio, darkrooms and more artists’ tools. The central hall houses a rotating schedule of free exhibits and other public programming.
