Owner Angelo Sosa, the cocksure culinary artist from season 7 of Top Chef, is the founding force behind this Hell’s Kitchen restaurant and tequila specialty bar. Though the menu is fairly standard Latin fare—guacamole, tacos, tortas, ceviche—the food is expertly prepared and perfectly seasoned. The one disappointment seems to be price; $15 will get you two fish or rib tacos so don’t arrive ravenously hungry if you’re on a budget. The Village Voice rated the margaritas here the best in the City in 2012, and the drinks have only grown in reputation and popularity. Reservations are recommended, especially in the summer months when the outdoor seating goes fast.
