Danny Meyer—the restaurateur behind such New York City favorites as Gramercy Tavern and Shake Shack—ventures into the bar business with this cocktail-focused extension of his Blue Smoke barbecue restaurant. Cozy Southern gentility is the theme in this Chelsea space, where classic cocktails like the Sazerac and whiskey and cola share menu space with the New York Sour and a take on the Moscow mule. Blue Smoke chef Jean-Paul Bourgeoise handles small plates and bites, including fried frog legs, jalapeño cheddar cornbread and smoked swordfish and fixin's.
