Before it was a cool, hidden-away bar in Grand Central Terminal’s main station, the storied Campbell Apartment was the private office of John W. Campbell, a tycoon from the 1920s. While most New Yorkers would kill to have an entire apartment that spanned nearly 2,000 square feet, much less an office, the space is a throwback to another era, where gents would sip cocktails while talking about the war in rocking chairs. Today, the renovated and expanded space has three bars, including a terrace overlooking the main hall at Grand Central and an outdoor area on Vanderbilt Avenue.
