For some true Chelsea eye candy, Elmo is the destination. We could be talking about the decor, of course, which pops with brightly striped walls, mod chandeliers and Eero Saarinen–designed chairs at every table. But what we're really looking at is the genetically blessed staff, comprised mostly of handsome young men whose smiles make waiting for a table on a packed Friday night a joy. The colorful cocktails and pumping dance music make Elmo quite the scene, and there's a lounge downstairs for serious action seekers. The menu is a hodgepodge of trendy comfort foods, such as macaroni and cheese, meatloaf and a cheeky Duncan Hines Devil's Food Cake. We can't really imagine Mom serving dinner here, but that's part of the charm.
