Ganso Yaki, a spin-off of Downtown Brooklyn's Ganso Ramen, is part of the Ganso Group run by writer Harris Salat and chef Tadashi Ono, the team also responsible for a number of popular Japanese cookbooks. Japanese street food—such as chicken yakitori with quail egg and short ribs in garlic-chili-soy marinade—is the focus at this wood-detailed corner space near Barclays Center. Okonomiyaki enthusiasts will find a sublime pork-belly specimen here. The interior is well designed, with a bar and small tables for solo diners and low-key dates and a row of family-friendly booths that afford a view of the glass-walled kitchen.
