This handsome, low-lit restaurant on a Nolita corner has a long bar, art deco touches and cushy, half-moon booths. Australians Jason Scott and Robert Marchetti devised a broad Italian menu whose highlights include fish stew pot pie, grilled lamb chops marinated in wild garlic and orecchiette pasta with creamy broccoli-anchovy sauce. Downstairs is Peppi’s Cellar, a speakeasy-style bar with clandestine booths and 500 or so different labels of whisky on hand. Sunday nights there’s live jazz.
