Pisillo’s paninis are not of the hot-pressed variety. Because they get their bread delivered fresh daily from some of Bensonhurst’s finest bakeries, there is no need to crush it under a hot iron to make it taste good. Pisillo’s also uses only high-quality ingredients imported from Italy—cold cuts, condiments and buffalo mozzarella that is delivered every week. The result is an authentically Italian, fresh sandwich that is not flattened into a hard, crunchy mess from a press. More than 30 varieties are available off the menu—all very generous in size.
